Want to display GMDSS (Global Marine Distress and Safety System) transissions, without using a bulky computer?

With this app, you can decode GMDSS-DSC (Digital Selective Calling) transmissions. The MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) for both the sender and recipient is displayed, along with the message type. A built in table of MMSI country codes is used to also display the registered country for both MMSI addresses. Each packet is timestamped.

Just set it next to the radio's speaker, tune in an GMDSS-DSC frequency, and watch the decodes. Or for even better reception, use a pair of earbuds, plugged into the radio's headphone jack, rather than the internal speaker.

You can save decoded GMDSS-DSC packets to a file to view later, or transfer to your computer via iTunes.
