The app idea: if you have all the components:
- a SAT TV subscription
- internet access (at home)
- a Windows PC (at home)
- a smartphone with 3G/4G data subscription with unlimited traffic
Then why not re-directing the SAT Receiver programs to your phone wherever you are?
This is what you need:
- an Enigma 2 compatible SAT Receiver.
Recommended: receivers produced by "Dream Multimedia". Examples: DM800, DM500, DM8000,...
Several other vendors are compatible as well.
- a Windows PC
Server installation:
- Download TVMobil installer from http://www.tvmobilapp.com/
- Register an username/password. Start the server.
On client app:
- connect with the above username
- browse your channels and enjoy your channels on mobile phone wherever you are!
Notes:
- TVMobil is working with SD and HD channels.
- the video quality depends on network bandwidth.
It may switch to audio only if the netowrk is slow
- The bandwidth needed is variable and configurable.
On 3G will require about 10-25kB/sec depending on the TV content
- On your iOS device you'll need at least iOS 5 or above
- On your PC you'll need Windows Vista or newer
- the server uses FFMpeg and VLC libraries for transcoding live video
