tapDrums is a virtual drum kit with built in song selection and play back from your music library so you can play/jam drums along with your favorite songs.
tapDrums can be used as a learning aid, rehearsal aid, inspiration tool or just for fun and entertainment. It's a fun app for drummers and non drummers alike and a handy little drum aid to carry around in your pocket when the urge hits you.
The application was originally commissioned by Brandon Cox of Leaving Odessa in order that he had drums in his pocket to complete the drum tracks for Leaving Odessa's first two singles "Broken Lie" and "Watch Me Fall" on iTunes while his studio was down for a period and his drums stored away during the production of the songs. He used the singles' demo tracks loaded via the iTunes library minus the drum tracks to which the final drum parts were then composed
with tapDrums before final recording and production.
The original idea began as a humurous notion which quickly became serious after some experimentation.
Version 1.0 brings you the original program he used to score the drum tracks for Leaving Odessa's first two singles with the original samples used for the second single "Watch Me Fall".
