We think so too! That's why HVAC Duct Calc Buddy has a simple interface and real-time updates to help you choose optimal duct sizes. Use for HVAC duct systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Duct Calc takes your input parameters and evaluates several duct size combinations based on inputs and friction loss equations recommended in the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals 2009 to come up with a list of acceptable ducts. Other duct sizing applications typically only show one duct and it’s characteristics meeting specific input dimensions. Duct Calc goes one step further and displays several suitable combinations and their specific loss, velocity. Ducts close to the boundary conditions are indicated in yellow while those further outside the limits are red.

It’s easy to adjust your selection and or ranges by pressing up or down arrows as appropriate to expand or contract the list of suitable ducts.

Note: In the settings tab there is a parameter to restrict the duct aspect ratios displayed (Aspect Ratio). The aspect ratio setting for the sample screen shot is 1.2. Without this parameter or with this parameter set high strange sizes such as 4" x 30", etc. become valid.
