Just in time for the international year of astronomy 2009, the first interactive Black Hole viewer for the iPhone and iPod touch arrives. Place a black hole on top of any image from your photo library and watch, how it distorts its surroundings while you tap on the screen and drag the black hole around.
FEATURES:
- increase or decrease the black hole mass and find out what is the corresponding effect on the image.
- no artistic rendering is used to create the distortions; instead the proper equations of Einsteins General Theory of Relativity are iteratively solved for all primary light rays to calculate the image.
NOTE:
- for the best possible full-screen experience, all images will automatically be rescaled to fill the entire screen. For this reason, the original images in your photo library should have an aspect ratio (i.e. width divided by height) comparable to the iPhone/iPod touch screen dimensions (about 1:1.3 - 1:1.6).
